We’re on the lookout for the right person to come and join our team at Ambleside Dog Walker.
The hours and days of work are negotiable to fit around you and we’ll provide training, equipment, uniform, a good rate of pay, holiday entitlement and the affection of our team of dogs!
If you love dogs and have experience of caring for and walking them and if you love being outdoors, walking our beautiful local trails, then this could be the perfect role for you!
Who are we?
We are a husband and wife team who established Ambleside Dog Walker in 2019 to offer day care, group dog walks and home boarding for local dogs. We also offer day care for the dogs of visitors to the area as well as a wedding care & chaperone service.
We are a professional and award winning business and the health, safety and well-being of the dogs in our care is of the utmost importance to us, as is ensuring they have plenty of opportunity for structured fun and enrichment in a positive and calm environment. We provide walks in a variety of places locally.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an energetic, motivated and committed individual to work with us.
You must be very good with dogs, be able to read their body language and be calm, clear and positive in your communication with them.
You should have a good level of fitness, be able to walk on varied terrain and enjoy getting out in all weathers!
The ability to drive is essential (with a clean driving licence) - we will provide the vehicle. We will also ask you to complete a DBS check if you are offered the post.
See more in our Person Specification below.
What will you be doing?
Your role will be to walk a group of dogs each working day, picking them up and returning them home clean and relaxed afterwards. You may be using one of our fully converted vans to transport the dogs safely to and from their walk.
Sometimes you will be walking dogs with another team member but sometimes you will be walking dogs on your own.
If you think this is the job for you, please check through the criteria in the person specification below and email us, Tamsin and Nigel, at
