Rev has stayed many times & comes back fit, bouncy and tail waggingly happy. Nigel (The Ambleside Dog Walker) can be completely trusted to provide safe, fun and energetic days out in the Lakeland Fells tailored to the age, condition and breed of dog; and simply in the best surroundings possible; from his lovely dog safe and friendly home, to the immediately accessible fells and streams loved by our dogs. I could not more highly and assuredly recommend The Ambleside Dog Walker.
Hettie
We can’t recommend Nigel highly enough. Our Springer Spaniel Hettie loved Nigel and he looked after her so well in his lovely home In the beautiful Ambleside countryside with a huge array of walks. We stayed in a hotel which didn’t take dogs and we had a wonderful weekend knowing Hettie was well looked after. She felt very at home at his house and when we dropped her back on the second evening she was delighted to see him. I think Hettie saw more of the area than we did on lovely long walks and both Hettie and ourselves had the best weekend.
Buddy
Nigel looked after our Irish setter Buddy for the afternoon whilst we were on holiday in ambleside..... we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him; he quickly put Buddy at ease, and then they clearly had a great time. We loved getting the photos thank you.
When in the Lakes in the future, we would definitely give you a call if needing help again.

Whether it's out for a day, half day or home boarding, there is no-one I would trust as much as Nigel (Ambleside Dog Walker) to take care of my dog, Siena and give her a fantastic time. She loves going out with him and Jasper - I can tell from the great photos on Facebook - which is great when I am away as I can keep up with the adventures she has been on. She is always so excited and raring to go when he turns up and she comes home contentedly tired from a good day out which is always a good sign. Couldn't recommend the service highly enough to do it justice! Thanks Nigel.

Jax and Bubba had a fantastic time with Nigel. Nigel's service was professional from start to finish and I can honestly say I knew the dogs would have just as good a 'weekend break' as we did! There are fantastic places to walk on the doorstep and Nigel did his best to wear the dogs out for us before handing them back - perfect after our 6 hour journey home! Cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be using Nigel (and Jasper!) again. Thank you!
Molly & Gaston
Our dogs Molly and Gaston have spent several days with Nigel over the past week whilst we have been on holiday in the Lakes. I was apprehensive initially when I booked them in as Gaston can be wary of strangers, especially men and can sometimes be hostile towards people when he is not sure, but we needed to bring the dogs with us and have a young child that we needed to spend time doing dog free activities so decided we would try Nigel and see how the dogs got on. Within a minute of Gaston meeting Nigel I could see he was perfectly comfortable and content with him, allowing us to go off with our son with a clear mind. Each day we took Gaston and Molly to meet Nigel they were both so excited and went off really happily with him. Thank you Nigel not only for taking care of Gaston and Molly and taking them on lovely walks but for allowing us to spend quality time with our son on holiday and know the dogs were too having a lovely time. We would have no hesitation in recommending Nigel to anyone, he is a very calm and reassuring person to be around and puts your mind at rest when you leave your precious pet with him
Finlay
We are so impressed and delighted with the wonderful care that Saul and Nigel provided for Finlay today. We feel so lucky to have found Ambleside Dog Walkers to look after our cocker spaniel all day today so that we were able to go our son's graduation in Carlisle whilst up on holiday from Sussex. It has made a special day even more special to be able to relax knowing that Finlay was in such good hands!
The care we received goes way beyond anything we've ever experienced before and we appreciate Nigel being so flexible in accommodating us.What a very professional and caring service.

Judging by how tired Ron is, he has had a great day! It was great being able to leave him to play with other dogs and have some good walks whilst we went out for the day. Nigel was so friendly and we were really pleased to hear that Ron, who is quite a shy dog, settled in quickly. Thank you so much. We’re on holiday in our caravan and faced with the prospect of a rainy day in a confined space with 2 boys and the dog we decided to try and find some doggy day care for Spud, our border terrier so we could visit some indoor attractions.
Nigel was brilliant, picked Spud up and dropped her off again, and very quick replying to messages - thank you!
Robin
Nigel was brilliant he offers a really fantastic service.Our dog Robin although a nervous dog , Nigel reassured Robin and she went off happily with him and had a lovely walk with a couple of the other dogs. Nigel came up to the hotel we were staying at for our daughters wedding ,and collected Robin then brought her back several hours later to the hotel just in time for a few photos. It was such a relief to find someone like Nigel and the service he offers ,I would highly recommend him ,and I would use his service again next time we come upto the lakes
Molly
I went on holiday and left my dog, Molly, at Nigel’s for 12 days. As soon as we met he emailed me all his licences and I found this very professional. My dog comes from a shelter and sadly she’s scared of everything. She allowed Nigel to give her a cuddle as soon as she met him and this was a very positive sign for me. Before we took Molly, Nigel tried to learn some Italian (we’re Italians) and he was very good. He sent me pictures of Molly and texts every day, how she was and where they were going walking. The day we got back, he brought Molly nice and clean with her bed also very clean. I was very happy because I could enjoy my holiday, knowing she was in good hands and with other dogs every day. I recommend Nigel to anyone who wants to leave their dog safe and well looked after. This is a photo I received from Nigel: Molly peacefully asleep on the sofa. She was in a 5 star home! The Ambleside Dog Walker is absolutely fantastic! We are first time dog owners and have received outstanding support, even from before we got our pup! Nigel was kind enough to give us some really handy pointers and tips. Our dog Bronte has been going on lakeland adventures with Nigel, Tamsin and Jasper for a few months now and always has a great time. We couldn't recommend them enough!

Nigel is amazing! He looked after our miniature dachshund Louie for our wedding weekend and arranged to bring Louie along to the drinks reception. Nigel got him all suited up ready for the day and he had the best time! Don’t think Louie wanted to leave. Thank you again, would highly recommend.

Wonderful family run dog walker / sitter near the centre of Ambleside so really convenient if you’re staying in the village. Coco (3yo vizsla) was really well looked after and was really relaxed in a home environment. Will definitely be back!

Samson spent couple days with Nigel & Tamsin whilst we were holidaying in the area and needed some dog free days. Highly recommend service provided was friendly, efficient, and well organised couldn’t be more helpful. Samson had a fabulous time with plenty walks and cuddles and good company. Great local company that love dogs and the beautiful place we live. Really kind caring couple that have gone out of their way to help those in shielding during the past year or so. Our dog is so excited when she sees their van arriving to collect her this to me is the best recommendation Environmentally friendly and supportive of leave no trace campaign for the Lakes. Fantastic local dog walkers in the Lake District. They have taken amazing care of my dog Buddy since he was a small pup. Great and regular communication, always going the extra mile to help out with whatever we need. Buddy LOVES going out with them and gets so excited when the van arrives. Love seeing the great photos from all the amazing trails/walks and receiving updates. Cannot fault, would definitely recommend and feel confident that Buddy is in great hands when out.

We have two beagles and one is a rescue so this was going to be the first time we'd left him. He is very easily upset and can develop all sorts of anxiety related issues when he's worried so of course I was very anxious. We were visiting the lake district for our wedding and so wanted somewhere they could go for the night but we were worried as we wouldn't have a chance to meet before and know the dogs were OK. The first time I spoke to Tamsin I knew this wasn't going to be a problem. They got to know our dogs (and all their funny little quirks!) but not only that, they went out of their way to make sure we were relaxed, something we were so grateful for. The dogs clearly had an amazing time, our rescue showed no signs of having been anxious when he came back - he even shared his morning cuddles with Nigel over a cup of coffee so he had settled in quickly! Due to covid we'd had to reschedule and again Tamsin and Nigel were amazing over this, nothing was a problem and Nigel even drove out to meet us as the new cottage we'd had to book was further away. All in all they provided a service I'd highly recommend, they clearly love dogs and you can tell by the extremely low price, they aren't in it for the money! Wouldn't hesitate to use Ambleside again and would recommend them to anyone. If they can look after two beagles who are pampered fuss pots, they can cope with anything!

Tamsin and Nigel were great. Both so helpful and made booking easy. Ralph our cockapoo is a nervous boy and we were getting married and required day care. Our hotel didn’t allow dogs so she spent the evenings and nights there and also the days where we wanted to do a long hike/other not dog friendly stuff........Highly recommend them for anyone going to the Lake District with their dog.

I was looking for day and evening care for Merlin so that — while staying in Ambleside — we could go out for dinner, and spend a day climbing. Nigel and Tamsin were very responsive, and clearly took all professional steps to understand and Merlin’s needs and safety alongside other dogs in their care. We would highly recommend Nigel/Tamsin. Our dog Max stayed with them for a week whilst we were up in the lakes as our accommodation wasn’t dog friendly. Max absolutely loved staying with them, settled in very comfortably and had a great time; we can always tell when he was so excited to see them at the end of each day We will definitely use them again!

Tamsin & Nigel take the concept of dog walking to a whole other level; both in terms of the amazing daily Lakeland adventures they take the dogs on and the thought and care that goes into everything they do.
I live outside of the areas they cover and I am very happy to drop my dog off for day care because I know she is having the best time and being given 5* care.

Absolutely amazing service. We left Fudge with Nigel and Tamsin for much longer than I would have wanted but from the start of the booking to delivering her back to us they have been fabulous. I have felt completely at ease on our first abroad holiday in a long time. I did not worry and knew she was well cared for. We received reassuring texts and our sons loved seeing Fudge on Instagram especially attacking your blueberries . We would all highly recommend Ambleside Dog Walker for adventures and boarding.
