Quality Dog Care and Chaperone Service for your Special Day

On your big day it can often be difficult to find someone to look after your dog as the friends and family that you usually rely on are involved in the day too.  Why not let our experienced family team care for your dog so that you can enjoy your big day without worrying about them?

As a much loved member of your family, you may want your dog to share in the celebrations as well and to be part of your special day. We can help!

Our wedding dog care and chaperone services are designed to take the stress out of your big day and help to make it a celebration to remember.  We can work with you to plan your dog’s involvement in the day, tailoring our service to your requirements, so please do get in touch to discuss if your requirements are slightly different to those outlined below.

We provide wedding dog care services across the Lake District and specialise in ensuring your dog has a great day with us and remains contented and relaxed while attending your wedding.

When we take a wedding booking we exclusively book that day out for you.  However, if you have family and friends requiring care for their dogs on the day then let us know and we may be able to help with that too.

If you are interested in any of our wedding services, please see further details below and then get in touch by email at amblesidedogwalker@gmail.com to make an initial enquiry.

PLATINUM SERVICE

Deluxe Day Care Plus Return for Ceremony and Photos

This exclusive service enables your dog to be present at your ceremony and maybe have a starring role as well as being around to be included in photographs.

We work with you well in advance to plan out all the details so everything runs smoothly on the day and we can offer advice on what we have found to work well given our experience in attending weddings as a dog chaperone.

How does the day work?

We collect your dog in the morning (usually around 9am).  We have fully converted vehicles for the safety and security of the dogs in our care while travelling.

We’ll take your dog for a good walk during the morning and they’ll have a rest before getting ready to attend the wedding.

We’ll make sure we return them to the venue clean and dressed in any attire you may have provided for them to wear.  If they’re comfortable with grooming, we will give their coat a brush as well so they’re looking their very best!

We arrive in good time for the ceremony and are very experienced at helping your dog to feel calm and contented despite all the exciting events going on around them!  We'll have worked with you ahead of time to plan your dog's role (if they're having one) to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day - and we'll carry out supervision duties as pre-agreed with you.

Following the ceremony we’ll supervise your dog and help with their participation in the photos.  Again, we have a range of tricks to help your photographer to get the best out of the photos with them in.

When you have all the photos you want we’ll then take your dog away for some rest time, enrichment and another walk prior to returning them to you or a designated carer early evening (6pm).

If you'd like evening care (to 9pm) or an overnight stay in our comfortable home, we can add that on too (subject to availability).

What is included within this service?

  • Initial telephone conversation on booking to discuss general requirements and find out more about your dog

  • Meet and Greet - we like to meet you and your dog and take your dog for a walk so that when it comes to the big day, they know us and are happy to come along with us (If we feel it would be beneficial, we sometimes suggest a second meet up prior to the big day)

  • Email support throughout the booking process and lead up to the wedding

  • Final telephone consultation to confirm arrangements close to the wedding day, as required

  • Up to 9 hours caring for your dog on the day

  • Collection and drop off on the day

  • Clean and groom and dressing of your dog prior to coming along to the ceremony

  • Up to 2 hours chaperoning your dog at the wedding venue to take part in the ceremony and photos

  • 2 good walks during the day (as per your dog’s needs)

  • Quiet time for rest and enrichment activities in our comfortable home (we are licensed by South Lakeland District Council to care for dogs in our home with a 5 star rating).

GOLD SERVICE

Deluxe Day Care Plus Return for Photos

Our Gold Service is ideal if you would like to see your dog on your big day and capture them in some photos with you after you’ve tied the knot.

For this service we’ll care for your dog for the day so you can enjoy your day worry free, but we’ll bring them along to the venue after the ceremony so you can say hello and have some photos with them in.

How does the day work?

We’ll pick your dog up from you or a designated carer in the morning (usually around 9am).  We have fully converted vehicles for the safety and security of the dogs in our care while travelling.

We’ll take your dog for a good walk in the morning and they’ll have a rest before getting ready for their visit to your wedding.

We’ll make sure we return them clean and dressed in any attire you may have provided for them to wear.  If they’re comfortable with grooming, we will give their coat a brush as well so they’re looking their very best!

We’ll arrive at the venue at a pre-agreed time after the ceremony and chaperone and supervise your dog to allow them to be included in the wedding photos.  We are experts at getting their attention so we can assist the photographer to ensure the photos are exactly as you wish.

When you have the photos you want we’ll then take your dog away for some rest time, enrichment and another walk prior to returning them to you or a designated carer early evening (6pm).

If you'd like evening care, or an overnight stay in our comfortable home, we can add that on too (subject to availability).

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY...

“Nigel you are an absolute dog whisperer!"

“We can’t thank Nigel enough for how he was with Charlie - all our guests were commenting on how great he was and how Charlie seemed to enjoy being with him despite us all being around.  We can’t thank you both enough for your outstanding care and we know where Charlie will be staying if we ever need care in the future!”

“Nigel you are an absolute dog whisperer! Thank you again so much for doing such a fabulous job with our girls on Sunday, you are just a natural, they looked so at ease with you.  And thank you for getting them wedding ready for us!"

“So glad we found Nigel and Tamsin to look after our collies Cooper and Cassie while we got married.  They both look like they had the best time there and are very tired at home today! Would definitely recommend to everyone, even Cooper who can be a bit nervous of people and dogs just settled so well and I didn’t have to worry about them as I knew they were safe and well looked after and cared for by people who have a real passion for dogs!  Thank you very much!”

“Perfect and seamless!  We were able to completely relax knowing that Murphy was in safe hands having fun but we were also able to have him with us for the ceremony and photos without any stress of worry, which was really important to us.”

“Leading up to the wedding we were very concerned about leaving Harry with someone he didn’t really know. After meeting we both felt at ease straight away and could see how caring and thoughtful Tamsin and Nigel were towards him. A fantastic service, we would recommend to everyone!”

“After meeting you it was clear we’d made the right decision – greeting Bear like he’s just as important to you as us.  Your safety measures really helped us feel at ease and on the day we were so impressed at how Nigel had Bear under control….Our favourite thing? We got into bed, read a text from ADW updating us that Bear had a great walk and had settled. Then checked ADW Instagram and saw photos of Bear having the time of his life on some incredible walks.”

“Our phone call really helped to gain our confidence and trust…you were understanding of our requirements and nervousness…"

“After meeting you it was like a weight was lifted.  Seeing how you handled our dogs was amazing….The service was more than I could have hoped – we definitely couldn’t have done it without you!”
